As part of my ongoing series, ABC Sensory, we’ve been exploring a different sensory activity for each letter of the alphabet. And for today’s letter I sensory activity, we’ll be making Icebergs! Supplies
Water
Blue food coloring (*optional)
Letter I Shapes (upper case and lower case)
Cold water animals (like penguins and polar bears)
Directions
Fill two or three sandwich bags with water. Add your letter I shapes to the bags and seal them closed.
A Fun Surprise
As your icebergs begin to melt, the hidden letter I shapes will break free from the bottom of the icebergs and float around in the water!
Sneak In Some Learning
As your child is playing, try asking questions like:
“What letter are we learning about today?”
“What sound does the letter I make?”
“I is for what?… Icebergs!”
