Learn how to make your own slime! Simply gather the supplies listed below and get started.
As part of my ongoing series, ABC Sensory, we’ve been exploring a different sensory activity for each letter of the alphabet. And for today’s letter S sensory play, we’ll be making slime! In this post I’ll show you exactly how easy it is to make. Plus, I created a FREE checklist to help you create your own ABC sensory bins. Supplies
1/2 Cup School Glue (clear or white)
1/2 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Liquid Starch
Directions
Combine school glue and water in a bowl. Stir with a spoon or popsicle stick until evenly mixed. Add a few drops of food coloring to create your desired color of slime. You can also add glitter to give it a fun sparkly look. Lastly mix in the liquid starch. It will start to thicken immediately. Continue stirring until the slime is fully formed. And you’re done!
Lay out your ball of slime on a mat and add some letter S shapes into the slime to help reinforce that S is for Slime.
If you’d like, you can also include some other slime friendly toys (we chose ninja turtle action figures!). And that’s it! Let the fun begin!
Make It A Game
Try pushing the letter S shapes under the slime and have the kids try to dig them out!
Sneak In Some Learning
As your child is playing, try asking questions like:
“What letter are we learning about today?”
“What sound does the letter S make?”
“S is for what?…. Slime!”
