Supplies
2 pieces of red paper
Pink and red tissue paper
Directions
Lay your two pieces of red construction paper on top of each other. Fold them in half and cut out a large heart shape. (You should have 2 hearts when you’re done.)
Cut another heart shape out of the middle.
Tear off a square of parchment paper slightly bigger than the heart shape.
Use your glue stick to glue one of the large hearts to the parchment paper. Cut off excess parchment paper.
Cut out several tiny heart shapes from your pink and red tissue paper. (We didn’t have any red tissue paper. So we used red construction paper for our red hearts.)
Paste your tiny pink and red hearts to the parchment paper.
Glue a length of string to the top of the heart. I recommend using a hot glue gun for this part so the string stays secure when you hang it.
Paste the second large heart to the back side of your sun catcher.
Hang in the window and enjoy!
Try it for yourself
This Valentine’s Day sun catcher is so pretty and so easy for kids to make! No need to buy holiday decorations when you can make your own! And I just love how beautiful it looks hanging in the window.
